The French “75″ is June 2nd Drink of the Day!!
This Drink of the Day is a Pre-Prohibition champagne cocktail that was invented by the famous barman, Harry MacElhone of Harry’s New York Bar in France, back in 1915. It is called “75″ because it was said to hit you like a French 75mm field gun when you drank it. I have to admit, too many of these can do just that. Introducing gin to some bubbly will have an impact that is for sure. You definitely don’t want to get too carried away drinking these.
A very refreshing champagne beverage for any special occasion. Just when the champagne alone just isn’t going to do the trick. Also a nice drink to finish off a Monday after a long day at the office. Just be sure to keep it to only a couple or you may sleep through your alarm in the morning.
Some great news to get off the subject for a moment - we are joining forces with Barzz.net to enhance what each of us are doing. They are a bar and nightclub locate that you can use on your phone anywhere in the United States. They will be sharing our Drink of the Day on their social networks and we will be working together to bring you, the true imbibers, some great stuff in the coming years. I am looking forward to this joint effort, so we can give you everything you need.
