The Gin Aloha is June 7th Drink of the Day!!

Bringing a little of the islands to the table, by adding just a touch of pineapple juice, is great if you don’t overdo it. Pineapple juice will override all ingredients if you get carried away. In today’s Drink of the Day, it is only trying to enhance and blend in with the other flavors involved with the overall cocktail. Doing this correctly will give you a great combination that will not only give you that flavor you are looking for, it will also be quite refreshing.

This is a great beverage if you are a gin fan. The taste notes of the gin are enhanced, getting rid of the bite of the spirit, so you can enjoy them more. It shares center stage with triple sec, giving it that citrus background that does a good job blending it all together. This is a cocktail where you will want to use a high quality gin, so you can enjoy the many flavors of the ingredients that went into making the final product. A great relaxer for the weekend. Gin Aloha

1 1/4 oz. Gin

1 1/4 oz. Triple Sec

3/4 oz. Pineapple Juice

2 Dashes Orange Bitters

Method: In a mixing glass filled with ice, add all the ingredients to measure. Cap off with a tin and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Take an orange rind and twist it over the drink, allowing for the oils from the rind to disperse onto the cocktail. Rub it gently on the rim of the glass before dropping it into the drink.
