The Grape Nehi is April 20th Drink of the Day!!
Happy Easter, everyone! A simple one for you today, since you are probably busy with other things.
This is a cocktail that has only three ingredients, but a lot of flavor. A very easy drink to put together for a Sunday, hence the reason I picked this as the pick for the Drink of the Day! A close cousin to the popular shooter, the “Purple Hooter”, this is meant to be a sipping beverage instead of something you want to finish off in one gulp.
Though you can use sour mix in place of freshly squeezed lemon, you will get more from this cocktail if you go on the fresh side and keep the store bought sour in the cabinet on this one. The commercial sour will make the constructing of this cocktail a quicker experience. But, the shortcutting will become noticeable in the overall flavor. Going fresh is always the way to go.
Grape Nehi
2 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Raspberry Liqueur
Juice from one Lemon
Method: In a mixing glass with ice, pour in the vodka and raspberry liqueur to measure. Squeeze in the juice from one lemon, discarding the remnants after doing so. Cap with a tin and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a half-wheel of lemon on the rim of the glass.
