The Green Mile is December 28th Drink of the Day!!
To stay on rum for yet another day, this cocktail is full of flavor and color. The base cocktail, a coconut rum, is enhanced with the flavor of pineapple and melon to give you some true tropical flavors that will give you the feel of sandy beaches and clear waters. Perfect for the cold and miserable months we have ahead of us here in the Midwest United States.
I need to stress to maybe tone down on the melon liqueur. I am a fan of melon, but even this cocktail seemed to be overtaken by the flavor of it. Taking it down to about 1/2 oz. should do the trick and will better compliment the coconut flavor of the rum, and be a good partner with the pineapple juice. Either way, you will have yourself a very sweet drink. For those who do not like the flavor of alcohol and still want to get the benefits from it, this cocktail could be something you may want to consider.

2 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Melon Liqueur (if you take this down to 1/2 oz. add an extra 1/2 oz. vodka)
3/4 oz. Cointreau
