Jungle Juice is March 26th Drink of the Day!!

We all have had our many versions of something called this at frat parties, friendly get-togethers and other informal gatherings. A crazy cocktail that usually has many on-hand ingredients that tastes a lot like fruit punch when put together, but will give you that much needed kick to get you in the right frame of mind. Well, I guess there is actually a drink out there that is called this! Who knew?!

Yes, there are many ingredients involved in this. Yet, this version is much more tame than what you are probably used to. A nicely rounded beverage, it will be as much of a hit as the one you find yourself making in a 5 gallon batch. At least with the one I will represent today, it will be a little more contained and you will know what will be in it ingredient wise. Yes, that does take some of the fun out of it. But, someone has to be responsible here.

Jungle Juice

1 oz. Vodka

1 oz. White Rum

1/2 oz. Triple Sec

1/4 oz. Simple Syrup

2 Wedges of Lemon Juice

Cranberry Juice

Pineapple Juice

Orange Juice

 

Method: Pour in the measured amounts of the first four ingredients into a mixing glass filled with ice. Squeeze in two wedges of lemon, discarding the wedges after doing so. Add equal amounts of the three juices to top off. Shake to blend, then strain into a pint glass filled with ice. Garnish with an orange half-wheel and maraschino cherry.
