The Little General is October 12th Drink of the Day!!

In this drink, the smoothness of the Canadian whiskey works great with the other ingredients. Staying with the whiskey theme for the second day in a row, I felt it was important to show how well some whiskeys make for good with making cocktails. Blend whiskeys, such as Crown Royal, is a great example of just that. Though this whiskey goes well on its own or on the rocks, sometimes you want to tone it down and have something you can sip on while out on the town or even home entertaining friends. I think this meets the criteria.

The combination of amaretto and cranberry juice goes well with just about anything you want to use for a spirit. Today, the whiskey will do well with a nice cool autumn day. I hope you find it as enjoyable as I do.

Little General Cocktail4-27 little general

1 1/2 oz. Canadian Blend Whiskey

3/4 oz. Amaretto

Cranberry Juice

Twist of Orange

Method: Build this in an old fashioned glass filled with ice. Pour in the measured amounts of whiskey and amaretto. Top off with cranberry juice. Take an orange peel and twist it over the drink, allowing the oils from the rind to disperse on top of the cocktail. Rub the twist on the rim of the glass before dropping it into the drink. Tamp the twist down with a stir stick while stirring to blend the ingredients.
