The Little Green Car is March 14th Drink of the Day!!
Last year, this band from Dublin, Ireland stopped by my bar on their way to a gig in Columbus, OH and I had the opportunity to serve them some cocktails. Since I was rather slow this particular evening I was able to talk with them and hang out, so I was able to experiment and come up with a signature cocktail for their band. I’ve chosen this cocktail as the final installment of drinks leading up to St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
This is one of those everything-but-the-kitchen-sink cocktails that is very smooth going down, so be sure to keep that in mind while enjoying. A citrus and nut combination that gives you a nice greenish hue when measured properly. A perfect beverage to kick off the biggest party weekend of the year! Slainte!

Little Green Car
1/2 oz. Rum
1/2 oz. Gin
1/2 oz. Melon Liqueur
1/2 oz. Hazelnut Liqueur
1/2 oz. Coffee Liqueur
One wedge each of Lemon, Lime, and Orange
Pineapple Juice
Tonic Water
Method: In a mixing glass with ice, pour in the first five ingredients to measure. Squeeze in a wedge of lemon, lime, and orange, discarding the remnants after doing so. Pour in Pineapple Juice leaving about 1 1/2 inches room from the top of the glass. Cap off and shake a couple times, (on the video, I overdid this step. Just shake enough to blend the ingredients). Pour back into the glass that you started with. Top off with tonic water. Garnish with lime and orange wedges on the rim of the glass.
