The New Yorker Cocktail is May 11th Drink of the Day!!

May 11, 2014 | By | Add a Comment

Another rye whiskey cocktail, complimented with the right ingredients measured properly, to give you a nice and palatable beverage. No hiding what the base is for this drink.

A nice and relaxing cocktail to ease into the lazy boy and enjoy the Saturday with. This Drink of the Day is one you deserve after a long work week. Be careful not to overdo the secondary ingredients, or you will have a cocktail that is way too sweet and will hide the rye whiskey foundation, taking away from the nice flavor this spirit has to offer. The other parts of this cocktail are only meant to take away from the bite, leaving the actual flavor of the rye and other flavors this liquor was made with.

Hope you have a long and relaxing weekend. Cheers!

New Yorker

2 oz. Rye Whiskey

1/2 oz. Aromatic Bitters

1/2 oz. Fresh Lime Juice

Splash of Grenadine

Method: In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in the ingredients to measure. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Take a lemon rind and twist it over the cocktail, allowing the oils from the peel to disperse onto the drink. Rub in on the rim of the glass before dropping it in.
