The Paul Mall is January 27th Drink of the Day!!!
This is an old classic that I had to change up a bit due to being out of an ingredient, so the video version will not match my written version. In fact, it got me to thinking that this would be the perfect time for a little lesson. There are liqueurs out there that may be different colors, yet still have the same color. So, the point I am trying to get across for this Drink of the Day is that I had the opportunity to ad-lib.
The base liquor in this is gin. Add some sweet and dry vermouth with a little creme de menthe and you have yourself a fine sipper to comfort the soul. Enjoy!
Pall Mall
1 1/2 oz. Gin
1/2 oz. Sweet Vermouth
1/2 oz. Dry Vermouth
1/2 oz. Creme de Menthe (White or Clear. I was forced to use the Green Creme de Menthe due to not having any clear on hand. Still had the same flavor and added the distinct color. Something you may want to add to your list of drinks for the up and coming St. Patrick’s Day holiday).
Method: Build this in an old fashioned glass filled with ice, by first pouring in the measured amount of gin, then following it up with the measured amounts of the other ingredients. Stir and serve.
