The Princeton is January 21st Drink of the Day!!
The Drink of the Day today is a nice sipper that has one of my favorite mixers in it. Tawny port is such a great addition to any liquor. It has the tendency to bring the best out of the primary ingredient of any drink when the correct amount is added. There is no exception here. The Princeton is meant to be enjoyed, sip by sip, so take your time enjoying the flavor of it dance around on your taste buds.
A very simple to make cocktail that you, if you are a gin fan, will be making many of during this chilly season. Time to start the fire and put on your favorite slippers! Enjoy!
Princeton Cocktail
1 1/2 oz. Gin
3/4 oz. Tawny Port
2 Dashes of Orange Bitters
Method: Build this in an old fashioned glass filled with ice by first adding the measured amounts of gin and tawny port. Add two dashes of orange bitters. Take an orange rind and twist it over the glass, allowing the oils from the rind to disperse onto the drink. Take the twist and rub it softly on the rim of the glass before dropping it into the cocktail. Stir and serve.
