The Quaker Cocktail is January 10th Drink of the Day!!
Brandy is a great foundation ingredient when you are looking for something robust to have for an after-dinner cocktail. This cocktail is no exception. The blend of this, plus the right combination of rum, raspberry liqueur, and lemon, you have yourself a beverage that keeps your taste buds busy with every sip. I can picture this being the final course after a hearty steak dinner; something to help in the digestive process and put you in the right state of mind.
The Quaker Cocktail will fit will help you warm your insides during these blistery cold months of winter. That’s why it’s my selection as the Drink of the Day today. Cheers!
Quaker Cocktail
1 1/2 oz. Brandy
3/4 oz. Rum
1/2 oz. Raspberry Liqueur
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
Juice of half Lemon
Method: In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in the measured amounts of the first four ingredients. Squeeze in the juice from half a lemon, throwing away the remnants of the lemon afterward. Cap off with a tin shaker and shake well. Strain into a nicely chilled cocktail glass. Take a lemon rind and twist over the drink, allowing the oils from the peal to disperse onto the drink. Take the twist and softly rub it on the rim of the glass before dropping it into the cocktail.
