The Raspberry Screamer is February 26th Drink of the Day!!

Vodka is such a great spirit to mix with due to its lack of flavor and aroma. Adding to it to create flavor is what puts vodka in a league of it’s own when mixing drinks. Also, why do you think they have so many flavors added to or “infused” into the spirit? It usually gives you the full flavor of whats added without hindering the taste of it due to most liquors, in some facet, infiltrating the taste with its own. You get the true flavor and essence of the added fruit, herb, etc., due to it not having any flavor to go against it when it is infused.

When you don’t want to use an already infused vodka, you can create a beverage using the flavor and fragrance at the level you want. This is the case with this cocktail. This mixed drink uses raspberry liqueur to complement the main ingredient, plus adds fruit juice to enhance it even more, without hiding the raspberry note. A nice combination with vodka to enhance the alcohol content can never be wrong.

Raspberry Screamer

1 1/2 oz. Vodka

3/4 oz. Raspberry Liqueur

Orange Juice

Pineapple Juice

Method: Build this in a highball glass filled with ice by first adding the two ingredients to measure. Top off with equal amounts of pineapple juice and orange juice. Stir until blended. Garnish with a quarter wheel of orange on the rim of the glass.
