The Soother Cocktail is April 25th Drink of the Day!!

Just one taste of this drink will make you realize where they get the name. This is one of those liquid sedatives that you want to forget the daily grind with. Yes, the temperature is creeping up outside, but there are still the chilly nights where the fire can be lit and you can get a little cozy under the blankets. With the three main ingredients - cognac, applejack, and cointreau, and combining them with just a little simple syrup and fresh lemon juice, you have yourself something that will surely help you relax and heat up your inner soul. The Soother cocktail is the perfect drink of the day!

You might want to get your evening ware on before giving this one a try. You will not feel like doing much else after your taste buds have had their fill with this one.

 

Soother Cocktail

1 oz. Cognac

1 oz. Apple Jack Brandy

1 oz. Cointreau

1 Tbsp. Simple Syrup

Juice from 1/2 lemon

 

Method: In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in the first four ingredients to measure. Squeeze in the juice from half a lemon, making sure to throw away the lemon after doing so. Cap off with a tin and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Optional: Garnish with a twist of orange.
