The Southern Belle is April 8th Drink of the Day!!
Here’s a nice whiskey cocktail you can build directly in the glass you will be drinking out of. No shaking, stirring or straining on this one. Just make sure to stir it nicely after you’re done building it.
One thing about whiskey is that many are afraid to venture out further than your simple tonic, soda, or water when adding secondary ingredients to it. For those of you that are in that mindframe, you are missing out on some great cocktails. Keep this is mind when making drinks - every bottle behind the bar can be considered an ingredient to any cocktail. Keep an open mind and be adventurous and you will be amazed on what great concoctions you can come up with.
This cocktail is no exception to this theory. A great whiskey is fine on its own, that’s for sure. But, there are some whiskeys out there that would make good mixers and can give you something that can be an everyday favorite for you. You just have to give it a try. What’s the harm in that? Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Splash of Grenadine
