The Southern Bride is March 31st Drink of the Day!!
It amazes me to see how the popularity of gin has waned through the years while I’ve been in the business. In fact, it isn’t rare when talking with people about a martini that they actually think that vodka is, and always has been, the main ingredient in it. Gin used to be second only to whiskey in the United States in popularity. The fact of the matter is that gin has fallen all the way down to dead last in call outs in the bars I have worked at in the last ten years. After introducing this Drink of the Day, you may want to rethink your drink selection.
The Southern Bride cocktail is as aromatic as it is tasty. Combining a good gin to grapefruit and just a splash of maraschino liqueur, it gives you a nice aperitif to enjoy while waiting for dinner to be served. Here’s your chance to bring gin back to the forefront; at least for just one day. Cheers!
