The Baby Ruth Martini is February 6th Drink of the Day!

Babe Ruth is to baseball as chocolate is to ice cream, aloe is to skin creams, and bartending is to…well, er, making drinks. If you are a baseball fan you know the name Babe Ruth.

Most of you know him as the Home Run King, the Sultan of Swing, or the Bambino. The Red Sox, looking at the Babe as a pitcher who was losing his groove, traded him to the New York Yankees. It would become the trade known as the “Curse of the Bambino”. Not only would he become the hero who brought prominence back to the Yankees organization, he changed baseball, by making the home run a bigger part of the game itself. Heck, he probably brought more glory to the game itself.

So, to recognize the man who was sometimes bigger than the game itself, I’d like to share a drink that I found would not only compliment the man, but also the candy bar that was named after him.

Chris Armbruster from Northeast Ohio is responsible for this recipe. Chris is a Supply Chain Engineer by trade. But, if you were to look at his blog site, you will soon see that this is a man who enjoys the fun side as well as the business side of life. This is something he had listed on his list of martinis that I felt would compliment this day well! Thanks Chris!
