The Caribbean Sunset is April 14th Drink of the Day!!
I came up with this drink a few years ago due to having to come up with something on the fly for a last-minute party. Simple to make and something you can convert easily to a rum punch. Plus, if you just put everything but the rum into the bowl, you have yourself a nice non-alcohol mix that even the kids can enjoy. Just make sure to keep the rum away from the table altogether if you are planning on doing this.
Rum is a great summertime liquor that goes well with all natural juices and most carbonated beverages. This is a sure must for the home bar, especially in the heat of the season for your poolside parties. Hope you enjoy!
1 1/2 oz. Spiced Rum
1 oz. Lemon-Lime Soda
1 oz. Ginger Ale
1 oz. Orange Juice
1/2 oz. Grenadine
Method: In a highball glass with ice, begin by pouring in the measured amount of spiced rum. Pour in equal parts of lemon-lime soda, ginger ale and orange juice. Top off with grendadine. Stir. Garnish with a lemon wedge, lime wedge, and maraschino cherry.
