The Colt 45 is February 25th Drink of the Day
Samual Colt patented the first revolving barrel multi-shot firearm when he was only twenty-two years of age, in 1836. Though he had some early problems getting sales for his invention, he was able to see the hard times through and, by the time of his death at the age of 47, he was considered one of the richest people in the US. Colt Manufacturing Company still exists to this day.
Samual Colt is responsible for introducing “assembly line” production, giving each person a specific job in regards to assembling his guns. He is also responsible for early designs for underwater cable, underwater detonators, and assisting Samual Morse with using underwater cable to cross lakes, streams and rivers for his new telegraph service.
