The D-Day Shooter is June 6th Drink of the Day!!
D-Day, in military lingo, is the day of operation of an event. There have been many D-Days that have occured in the history of war. But the one that happened on June 6, 1944 is the one everyone is familiar with when this term is used. It is the day that turned the tides of the war in the favor of the allies and would forever change the world for what we had hoped for the better.
On this day, Allied troops consisting of over 300,000 land, and sea troops attacked a 50 mile stretch of Normandy Coast in France. Their goal was to take back over the area that had been in German control for four years, and to stop the spread of more takeover. It would take until June 30th for the allies to get enough of a foothold to consider this battle victorious. Over 12,000 casualties was seen on the Ally side, most of the deaths coming from the ground units.
To remember this day in history, I am introducing a shooter, D-Day. Very easy-to-go-down drink. Just pace yourself when enjoying.
