The Flaming Dr Pepper is December 1st Drink of the Day!!
Dr Pepper is a soft drink that was first concocted by Charles Alderson and served for the first time on this date back in 1865 at the W.B. Morrison and Co. Old Corner Drug Store in Waco, Texas. It has become one of the best selling soft drink products to-date and is distributed world-wide.
In regards to the cocktail with the same name, it is considered a shooter. It is also considered a flaming shot, so you must take neccessary precautions when drinking it. Done the right way, it tastes just like the refreshing soft drink we all know and love. Enjoy!
Flaming Dr. Pepper
1 1/2 oz. Amaretto
Splash 151 Rum
Half a Pint of Lager Style Beer
Method: Pour a half pint of draught beer into a pint glass and set to the side. In a shot glass, pour in the amaretto. Top off with a layer of 151 rum. Use a lighter or match to ignite the contents of the shot glass. Drop the shot glass, ignited, into the pint glass with the beer; the beer will extinguish the flame. Proceed to guzzle the contents, leaving the shot glass in the pint glass while doing so. Be sure to not tip the pint glass too far back, so you don’t chip a tooth with the shot glass.
