It was on this day in 1513 that Juan Ponce de Leon landed in Florida in search of gold and supposedly the fountain of youth, which for years in Europe had been rumored to be on the other side of the world. Much gold was found and the voyage was considered a success, however no fountain was ever found.

Now here’s a way to make a fountain of youth at home for yourself. It may not make you younger, but after a couple of these you may be feeling it!

The Fountain of Youth
3 Cucumber Slices
1 1/2 oz. Gin
2 1/2 oz. White Cranberry
1 tsp. Pimm’s No. 1
Juice of 1/2 lime

Method: Take two of the three cucumber slices and place in the bottom of the shaker. Add the lime juice and Pimm’s Number 1 and muddle together. Add the gin, white cranberry, and ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with the remaining cucumber slice.
