Greta Garbo was a Swedish-born actress who was born on this day in 1905. She was one of Hollywood’s first box-office hits and seemed to make money for every movie she worked for. Popular in both silent films and sound, she would wow audiences until she had enough of the crowds and called it quits in 1941. She would live the rest of her days out of the spotlight. Though she was considered a recluse to the media and her fans, she had a strong friend base that would keep her busy and happy. To remember her date of birth, I’ve found a drink that sounded too tantilizing not to try.

Greta Garbo Cocktail
1 oz. Brandy
1 oz. Dry Vermouth
1 oz. Orange Juice
Splash of White Creme de Menthe

Method: Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake well, then proceed to strain into a chilled highball glass (no ice).
