Martina Navratilova was one of the best tennis stars, man or woman, to ever hit the court. In her career, she amassed eighteen Grand Slam Single’s Titles, 31 Women’s Major Double Titles, and ten Major Mixed Doubles Titles. Billie Jean King, who wasn’t bad on the court herself said that Martina was “the greatest singles, doubles, and mixed doubles player that’s ever lived.” Ask anyone who’s played against her and you won’t find many, if any at all, who would disagree.

Today is Ms. Navratilova’s Birthday! To honor this, I felt it just to introduce the drink that’s considered a staple at the US Open. If you make one of these today, raise your glass and wish many more years to one of the stars of the tennis court.

Honey Deuce
1 1/4 oz. Vodka
Lemonade
1/2 oz. Raspberry Liqueur
Honeydew Melon Balls for garnish

Method: Fill a highball glass with crushed ice. Begin building the drink by pouring in the vodka. Top off to about a half inch from the rim with lemonade. Float raspberry liqueur on top. Garnish with honeydew melon balls.
