The Mellow Yellow Bird is June 4th Drink of the Day!!

I get asked, on occasion, what drinks can be made with Galliano. This liqueur, if done correctly, can go into an assortment of drinks. It tends to build on any flavor by enhancing some of the notes of the other ingredients if used sparingly. Too much will override what you are trying to build from. But that goes with any ingredient you add to a drink. The perfect combination of flavors is always the goal when making a cocktail. Just like when you go over to grandmas because no one can seem to get the spaghetti sauce to taste the way she does. You can use the same recipe and still can’t get it right. It is the combination, and how it’s prepared along with the amount of each ingredient, that gives it that special flavor. And let’s not forget about the one ingredient that you will never be able to duplicate: her passion for making it just right every single time.

Along with the Harvey Wallbanger and the original Lemon Drop Shooter, add this to your list of recipes using this unique ingredient. In fact, be ready to consider this your go-to once you taste this cocktail for the first time. It may give you other ideas for the use of Galliano in other drinks. Enjoy!
