Though John Herschel isn’t considered the inventor of photography, if it wasn’t for his work in the chemical process and the studies he did early on, it would have probably taken longer to come about. John, the son of William Herschel, the astronomer who discovered Uranus, was gifted in many areas of study. One of his early studies was the chemical process in photography in 1819, several years before the invention of it. Twenty years later, working with other pioneers in photography, he was the first to take a photograph using the glass plate process on this date.

To celebrate this achievement, I have found a nice and soothing coffee drink to enjoy while seeing the temperatures begin to come down a little during the change of seasons.
