The Spiked Float is July 28th Drink of the Day!!

Driving by what used to be my old neighborhood drive-thru ice cream joint brought back a whole bunch of memories for me the other day. I remember getting done with my paper route, then going up and getting my favorite beverage on a hot and muggy day during the summer. There was nothing like the feel of that icy mug, melting with the touch of my hand, while sipping the rootbeer through the straw, awaiting the final stage - getting to the ice cream. Man those floats were good!

Now for the adult version. One thing about all of these infused vodkas they have out there is that they give you some unique ideas when putting together drinks. Here’s an easy-to-prepare dessert beverage for a hot day with a little kick.

The Spiked Float
1 1/2 oz. Vanilla Infused Vodka
Root Beer
One Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream

Method: In a tall frozen mug, pour the vodka. Top off with root beer to about an inch from the rim. Drop in a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Be sure to have a long enough spoon and straw!
