The Sweet Tea Mojito is July 29th Drink of the Day!!
Nothing quenches your thirst more than having a great sweet tea cocktail in the summertime. As I was compiling my information for today, it occured to me that I haven’t put one on here yet. I could have given you one that would be easy to make and that everyone else does when putting together a pitcher of these. But, what’s the fun in that? I found one on the Food Channel’s website you and your guests will be sure to love.
Sweet Tea Mojito
Method: Steep 5 Black Tea Bags, Turbanado Sugar, and two handfuls of fresh Mint in four cups of simmering water for five minutes, making sure to stir occasionally to assist in dissolving the sugar. Be sure to not allow the water to boil, keeping the water at about 180 degrees F. Strain into a pitcher, add the juice of three limes, one and a half cups of light rum, a cup of cold water, and another handful of fresh mint leaves. Stir with a wooden spoon, being sure to muddle the mint leaves while doing so. Serve over ice and garnish with a fresh mint and a lime wedge.
