On this day, at 2:27am in 1912, the Titanic had taken in enough water to sink into the Atlantic Ocean, just off the coast of Newfoundland, two and one-half hours after striking an iceburg. Out of the 2200+ passengers on this vessel, 1517 lives were lost. This year is the 100th Anniversary of this fatal voyage.

In remembrance of this day, I found a drink named after this ship. After a couple of these, you may not want to captain anything yourself.

Titanic Cocktail
1 1/2 oz. Vodka
1/2 oz. Martini Bianco (dry)
1/2 oz. Galliano
1/2 oz. Blue Curacao

Method: Pour ingredients into a shaker filled half-way with ice. Shake well, then strain into a cocktail glass.
