On this date, in 1925, the “Tri-State Tornado” hit Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana, traveling a straight line for 3 1/2 hours, covering a 219 mile path of destruction. By the end, it had taken out 12,000 buildings, killed 689 people and injured 13000 others. To this day, it is considered the most deadly tornado in US history.

The Tornado Cocktail is a summer time drink that you can enjoy that will go down a little more soothing. Again, this is a drink that has the egg white that causes the drink to foam after shaking, giving it a soft feel. If you are uncomfortable with using raw egg whites, just disregard it. It won’t change the flavor of the drink.

The Tornado Cocktail
1 oz. Light Rum
1 oz. Dark Rum
Juice of 1/2 Lemon

Dash of Passion Fruit
