The Yoko Ono is February 18th Drink of the Day!
Today is Yoko Ono’s birthday. Known by many first as the widow to the great John Lennon, there is much more to her than that.
Yoko is an artist, a civil rights activist, a musician, and is heavily involved with AIDS awareness. In the years prior to meeting the ex-Beatle, she was well known throughout New York City for her music and art. She is still very active today, despite being in her mid-70s.
Considered public enemy number one and thought of as being one of the causes of the demise of The Beatles, she had a few rough first years with John. However, this seemed to wane through the years and her causes and having her heart in the right place most of the time won the majority of people over.
This drink, named after her, is something I found while researching today. If you want a nice, sweet and refreshing drink to sip on this one’s for you.
