Drink of the Day: Captain’s Blood

January 26, 2015 | By | Add a Comment

A good Monday to you and yours!  Let’s get this week started on the right note by introducing a cocktail that all those rum imbibers out there will appreciate.  This cocktail is primarily dark rum, with just enough secondary ingredients to get rid of the liquor bite of the rum, and to bring out some of the other character traits of the spirit.

Be sure to use your favorite dark rum when making this cocktail.  The ingredients are concealing nothing when it comes to its flavor.  The maraschino liqueur gives you a floral backdrop to entice the senses while the lime juice tones done the bite.  Adding a little bitters brings out even more that the rum has to offer with it’s subtle character that seems to help bring everything together.

If you are looking for a mixed drink that hides the rum, you are picking the wrong drink.  However, if you are a rum enthusiast just looking for a new way to enjoy your favorite liquor, you have come to the right place.  Enjoy today and have a great week.  Cheers!captains blood 1
