Happy Friday, everyone! Finally, after the first long work week after the holiday festivities and the first true cold front of winter, I am ready to have something a little more tropical when it comes to my choice of cocktail today. How about a nice tequila beverage to take us somewhere a little warmer?
This citrus based cocktail is what the doctor calls for. A perfect combination of lemon, pineapple and, of course, tequila, this will take you to a better place and make you forget about the frigid temperatures outside. I do have to warn you that this would not be a great selection if you are going out on the slopes this weekend. But, if you are staying in the warm confines, especially with a blazing fire and amongst friends, this should be a perfect tropical treat for you in the middle of the winter months.
Juice of one Lemon
1 1/2 oz. Tequila Blanco
1/2 oz. Grenadine
1/2 oz. – 1 oz. Pineapple Juice (depending on desired taste)
Method: In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in the ingredients to measure. Cap with a tin and shake to blend. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Optional: Garnish with a pineapple wedge and maraschino cherry.
